Surveillance

Surveillance visits are carried out during the period of your certification. The surveillance interval can extend up to one year depending on the ongoing performance of your management system. For example, an organization demonstrating a high level of conformity with the certification standards will normally have an annual surveillance visit.

Note that audits performed by Health Audit NZ Ltd as a Designated Auditing Agency results in the surveillance interval being determined by the Ministry of Health - HealthCERT.  For this type of certification, the surveillance interval may be longer than one year.

Not all certification standards will be audited at each surveillance visit (this only happens at certification or re-certification). The standards selected by the lead auditor for auditing at a surveillance visit will be chosen to verify that the management system is being maintained by the client organization. The surveillance visit is also an opportunity for the lead auditor to verify and close out any outstanding “Corrective Action Requests”.
